I still say he's stayin' in Denver. Hurt feelings aside it's still in his best interest.

Seriously, Detroit. Trade for Jay Cutler with your 2nd round pick. Draft Aaron Curry. Pray for rain... in the dome.

Hey Dawg, nice little debate last night. While I agree Tebow has more weapons around him at Florida, I think he also could have won a National Championship with Georgia. Florida's OL isn't that stout either. That said, I believe Stafford has the better NFL career. I see Tebow as a Frank Wycheck/Matt Jones (minus the white stuff) NFL player. I just don't want Detroit wasting another one of Georgia's top talents.

Ha .. ha .. ha .. (minus the white stuff) ... It was fun talking about it ... I wish I had more time to play around on the web but work is all important especially these days. They would have put up a much better showing against the likes of Alabama and Florida if he played for Georgia but their were too many little things they needed to do to be on that championship level. Basic things. Stuff they should have known before getting to Georgia and picked up on while playing for University. I was really dissapointed with them not living up to their potential. They have the talent ... but didn't play like it. Oh well ... it's another year to see how well they do and I will admit I think that after last years mediocre season (I'm greedy ... I think a 10 - 3 season is mediocre) they will actually play with a lot more intensity and focus. I certainly hope so. Headed to work again. See ya! Oh yeah! I forgot to tell ya. I actually met Flava Flav here in Las Vegas at his place. I delivered a laptop to him and his girl (or wife ... I'm not sure) one day and he opened the door. I looked at him ... he looked at me ... I looked at that big a** clock around his chest and we both broke out laughing. I was thinkin' I know I didn't just wake up Flava Flav and he said "Yeah man it's me" We talked for a good 10 minutes (I had to cause it was The Flava man himself! I just had to tell you after seeing your avatar thingy. Anyway ... talk to ya soon.

Good points, Dawg. Still, to the SEC QB-arm strength argument, JaMarcus Russell had comparable arm strength. How's that working out for him? Also, you can't honestly tell me you wouldn't rather have had Tebow behind center last year. Tebow will be leave UF as the most decorated college player of all time and just embodies what a leader should be(something Stafford never did). See: Stafford's 1st half vs. Bama, Stafford's whole game vs. Florida. With respect, Dawg. Go UGA!

Your points are excellent. Keep em' coming. Tebow behind center? ... I agree ... but only for his leadership skills. Ugh! I can't believe I said that! He is a playmaker whether I like him or not. Jamarcus Russell? I'm still waiting on that. I'd really like him to pan out but it doesn't look like he will. Tebow also had and has a great crop of outstanding receivers to help him leave Florida as the best all time. Georgia did have a better QB, RB and (a) good flanker/receiver (A. J. Green) and (split/tight end) Mohamed Massaquoi. Florida had a better Team. And still does. The Alabama fiasco pretty much summed up the reason why Mark Richt needed to get in their faces and make them do the basic things like wrapping up and stop getting dumb penalties. 31 to zero at the half. At home. Anyway ... I gotta get some sleep. I'll check back with you sooner or later. Fedex doesn't like it when I'm late. Peace.

1) Cutler ain't staying in Denver. That's very clear.2) Stafford really should have stayed one more year at UGA. He's very unpolished and would throw inexplicable INTs (see: Florida, GT games). True, he didn't have a real OL, but if he couldn't win with Knowshon Moreno and A.J. Green, imagine him in Detroit.

We won't argue about Cutler ... I don't even like him or Denver. As for you saying he couldn't win with Knowshon or A.J. Green? That's just plain silly. The games they lost were the result of a lack of focus and discipline on the part of the team (as a whole) and Mark Richt should have fixed that by now. (Like I said earlier ... that's another blog) Stafford did throw some silly passes but you get over that with time. Show me any SEC QB who has a better arm than Matt Stafford and I'll show you a future Hall of Famer. I know that's stretching it a bit but the point is Mathew Stafford is a better QB than Tim - 2 National Titles - Tebow. Period! As a pro he will get better ... he has to. I do agree he should have stayed at Georgia and I blame that on the coaches also who obviously didn't instill a sense of pride in him and Moreno for not wanting another crack at Florida. Moreno needed more seasoning too. It will be what it will be.

Here's a thought: Detroit trades its 2nd round pick for Jay Cutler and then drafts Aaron Curry/Jason Smith. I'm a big Dawgs fan but, let's be honest, Stafford didn't win anything.

reply Georgia Dawg by way of Las Vegas Joined: 3/16/09 Team: Georgia Bulldogs 3/17/09

The tools are there. Pick him and use them! Also Stafford wasn't the whole team. He didn't win anything because the team as a whole under achieved. That was Mark Richts fault ... Period! (That point is for another blog) The point is if they pick Stafford he will be the building block they need to start with. Pick some new blood or trade for it to protect him and shore up their weak defense. They have nothing to lose since they're already on the bottom anyway. Jay Cutler isn't going anywhere. Denver would be stupid to let him go. He is their best option right now. Big mistake on the part of management.

Why would Detroit not pick the best QB on the market? They need a QB they can mold. Stafford will get killed behind any Detroit offensive line because they flat out suck in defending the QB but he is the best fit for them. It isn't about the best Player. It's about the best fit! Kiper is right.

It's about building a team. A huge lineman might be the way to start seeing progress in Detroit. And there are many ways to find a quarterback. See Miami, Houston, Chicago and New England. If something is built to succeed, then your pro-style quarterback can have some success.

reply Georgia Dawg by way of Las Vegas Joined: 3/16/09 Team: Georgia Bulldogs 3/17/09

A good point ... but what's the difference? A big lineman on a team that can't stop the opponents from scoring at will? ... or a qb to build upon who can and will score points by throwing to Calvin Johnson even though their season will be hell anyway. Stafford will put fans in the seats ... Will a big lineman? I think not. Mathew Stafford is a better way to build your team. Just get him some protection ... Or he will have a short career.

Mike Mayock is better than both of them IMO.
